This report describes the use of K-nearest neighbour classifiers in reproducing the Grosswetterlagen catalogue of atmospheric circulation patterns over the regional European scale. This work was performed as part of the ACCORD (Atmospheric Circulation Classification and Regional Downscaling) project funded by the European Union.
